What did you make of NFT NYC?

NFT NYC was an incredible experience, embodying the spirit of community, innovation, and advocacy within the NFT space. Since 2018, it has been a driving force in empowering artists and builders like myself, providing a platform for diverse voices to be heard and connections to be forged.

The event's commitment to education and engagement not only showcases the value of NFTs but also fosters meaningful interactions among participants. Being part of such a dynamic and forward-thinking event, and having my work displayed in Times Square through NFT NYC, was truly a milestone moment in my artistic journey.

Why was your art selected?

Can't say for sure, but I believe my art was chosen because it embodies the spirit of NFT NYC and contributes to the vibrant tapestry of voices within the NFT community. Apart from that, the selection process was dual. Firstly, it was chosen for display at the Artist Village by the NFT NYC community, highlighting its resonance within the artistic community.

Secondly, it was elevated to the iconic Times Square display through public voting. Out of over 3000 artworks, mine was among the top 20 voted by the public, earning it the prestigious opportunity to be showcased in such a prominent location. This dual selection process underscores both the community's endorsement of my work and its broader appeal to a diverse audience.

What would you describe your art form to be and what motivated you to go down the path of being a digital artist? Was it easy?

My art form can be described as surrealism, where I convert chaotic emotions to structured art, celebrating the power of human emotions and internal feelings. I've always harbored a deep desire to be an artist and began my journey by experimenting with various traditional mediums.

However, it was the emergence of NFTs that provided the catalyst for me to explore the digital realm and start creating illustrations. My journey towards becoming a digital artist was motivated by a desire to explore new creative avenues and reach a wider audience. While transitioning from traditional to digital art wasn't without its challenges, it provided me with endless possibilities for experimentation and innovation.

It required learning new tools and techniques, but the ability to seamlessly integrate my years of experience and artistic vision into the digital realm ultimately made the transition worthwhile. Overall, while it wasn't easy, the journey has been incredibly rewarding and has opened up new opportunities for expression and connection.

What events are great for collectors and digital artists to be a part of?

For collectors and digital artists, events like NFT conferences, art exhibitions, and online forums dedicated to NFTs are great opportunities to connect, showcase work, and engage with the community. Platforms like Foundation, SuperRare, and CryptoArtNet often host events catering to NFT enthusiasts. Additionally, participating in hackathons, workshops, and virtual meetups can provide valuable networking opportunities and insights into the evolving NFT landscape.

What would be your approach to guiding collectors who are new to digital art?

I would suggest to emphasize understanding the artist's vision, exploring different platforms and marketplaces, and conducting thorough research on the authenticity and value of the artwork.

Encouraging them to engage with the artist and community, attend events, and gradually build a curated collection aligned with their interests and aesthetic preferences would also be essential. Additionally, educating them about digital art formats, NFT technology, and the importance of secure storage and authentication methods would help them navigate the digital art market confidently.

Is it easy for digital artists to build their brand remotely or would you recommend also networking physically?

While digital artists can certainly build their brand remotely through online platforms and social media, I would recommend a combination of remote networking and physical networking for optimal results. Remote networking allows artists to reach a global audience and connect with like-minded individuals across different regions, which can be incredibly valuable in expanding their reach and visibility.

However, physical networking also has its advantages, as it provides opportunities for face-to-face interactions, establishing deeper connections, and fostering collaborations. Attending art exhibitions, conferences, workshops, and meetups can enable artists to showcase their work, engage with potential collectors and collaborators, and gain valuable feedback in real-time.

By combining both remote and physical networking strategies, digital artists can create a well-rounded approach to building their brand, maximizing their exposure, and nurturing meaningful relationships within the art community.

Any advice for aspiring digital artists?

For aspiring digital artists, my advice is to embrace experimentation and exploration. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try new techniques, styles, and mediums. It's through experimentation that you'll discover your unique voice and artistic style.

Additionally, connect with fellow artists, attend workshops, and participate in online communities to learn from others and share your experiences. Remember, your journey as an artist is personal, so don't let anyone's opinions deter you from expressing yourself authentically. Keep pushing boundaries, refining your skills, and staying true to your artistic vision.
